This forum is one of our foundation’s activities that captures the attention of communities and promotes dialogue and joint construction among residents and key figures of the region.
Masculinities Forum 2024
This Regional Masculinities Forum has been an initiative developed by our foundation for more than twelve years. Alongside the Regional Women’s Forum, also conceived as a space for conversation and co-creation, it allows us to promote equity in the agroindustry, recognize and reduce gender gaps within the sector, explore new masculinities as pathways to solidarity, generosity, and shared responsibility, and advocate for equal opportunities.
Over 200 people in both regions fostered dialogue and reflection in various panels, primarily focused on opening more spaces for female participation and leadership within the banana sector and improving communication and relationships surrounding new masculinities in a highly competitive sector.
This year, under the leadership, gender, and youth program, the forum once again brought together the community, not only from the Urabá region but also from the Magdalena department, with whom we have been implementing initiatives to build social fabric. These efforts are supported by the participation of the public and private sectors, academia, grassroots organizations, corporations, and companies in the agroindustry.
