Our History

This is how our journey started.

1966
A group of Colombian producers launches their company, Unibán, to sell their own fruit directly to the market.
1969
Unibán's first shipment of 12,000 boxes to the United States.
1978
Opening of the Corrugated Cardboard Factory.
1986
The first shipment is carried out using the palletization method.
1988
Polyban Internacional is established in the Cartagena Free Trade Zone, along with Unibán International Ltd.
Unibán celebrates its 5,000th shipment.
1994
Turbana Marketing is created as an intermediary company for the commercialization of fruit in international markets.
2006
Unibán acquires Probán, the third-largest exporter in Colombia. Production is consolidated, and commercial positions are gained in Europe (TMA/Tropy).
2015
The company undergoes a physical and operational infrastructure change with investments of over $10 million USD to transition its export logistics from 20% to 80% of fruit in containers.
2016
The National Government officially certifies Unibán port facilities, aligning its operation with the current port policies of the country.
2017
Unibán establishes, in partnership with the National Government, the single inspection zone for exports and imports, becoming the second of its kind in the country.
2018
Unibán exports 40 million boxes per year.
2021
A new business division was created: New Business and Marketing.
