Uniban is committed to advancing gender equity within its organization and throughout the agribusiness sector, creating opportunities for women to lead and excel at every level of the productive chain.
Through various initiatives, Uniban actively promotes women’s empowerment and inclusion as essential elements for Colombia’s sustainable development.
Gender Equity: Where Everyone Reaps Opportunities
At the recent 1st Women’s Business Leadership Forum, organized by Puerto Antioquia, Uniban was represented by Marcela Sañudo Vélez, Human Resources Director and a passionate advocate for gender equity.

Addressing the importance of inclusion in the agribusiness sector, Marcela stated:
“Promoting gender equity is not just a corporate responsibility but a key pillar for the sustainable future of our industry.”
Her insights highlighted Uniban’s commitment to women’s empowerment, emphasizing programs such as GéneroSOS from Uniban Fundación, which fosters equitable workplaces and encourages supportive gender roles within the sector.
Further reinforcing its dedication, Uniban Fundación has received the Silver Seal, awarded by the Ministry of Labor and the Presidential Council for Women’s Equity through the Equipares Pymes program, supported by the UNDP. This recognition, held by only a select number of small and medium-sized enterprises in Colombia, underscores Uniban’s leadership in gender equity promotion.
Looking ahead, Uniban envisions women playing key roles across its entire value chain. By continuing to develop inclusive policies and expand leadership opportunities for women, Uniban is helping build a more equitable and prosperous future for Colombia’s agribusiness sector.
