PLMA Chicago

Fascinating Experience at PLMA Chicago!

Share on:

We were part of PLMA Chicago (Private Label Manufacturers Association) and had the opportunity to connect with a vast number of snack enthusiasts. The Private Label Manufacturers Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1979 to promote the growth and development of private brands. As the only organization of its kind, it represents more than 4,500 companies worldwide, ranging from multinational corporations to small family businesses.

Its reach spans a wide variety of categories, including food, beverages, snacks, health and beauty products, household goods, DIY items, and personal and recreational products. Some companies focus exclusively on private labels, while others combine their production with globally recognized brands.

Since its first U.S. trade show in 1980, PLMA has expanded its international presence, organizing events in Europe and Asia and serving manufacturers in more than 80 countries. Its activities include annual trade shows in Amsterdam and Chicago, as well as conferences, educational programs, market research, and specialized publications.

Turbana at PLMA Chicago 2024

PLMA Chicago

At the latest edition of PLMA Chicago, we were proud to be part of this prestigious trade show, sharing our passion for healthy snacks with customers and strategic partners from around the world. During the event, we successfully showcased our innovative product line, featuring:

  • Crispy plantain, cassava, and green banana chips, made with the highest quality ingredients.
  • Freeze-dried tropical fruits, including pineapple, banana, and mango, preserving their full flavor and nutritional value.
  • Banana and plantain flours, versatile and perfect for a wide range of culinary and baking applications.

Our commitment to quality goes beyond the final product. We work directly with more than 2,000 plantain farmers in Colombia, ensuring responsible agricultural practices and fair payments for their harvests. Additionally, 64% of the jobs at our production facility are held by single mothers, reinforcing our commitment to the social and sustainable development of the region.

Through the Uniban Foundation, we support social development programs that help improve the quality of life in communities near our operations. We also provide technical support to our farmers to guarantee premium raw materials, reinforcing the high-quality standards that define our products.
