The thesis project by Francisco José Cerén, a graduate of our Uniban Institute, was showcased at this event, which promotes science, technology, and innovation among young people, where it received recognition as an outstanding project on an international level.
Uniban Institute: Representing Colombia in Brazil
Milset is an inter-institutional, non-profit, and politically independent youth organization that fosters a culture of science by creating knowledge spaces focused on technology, mathematics, and innovation. At the International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (Milset) Expo 2024, held in Fortaleza, Brazil, a graduate from Uniban Institute represented Colombia and the Urabá region of Antioquia with a project titled “Image Classification of a Class Using Artificial Intelligence Algorithms.” This initiative not only enabled him to earn his high school diploma in 2023 but also secured the endorsement of the National Network of Research Seedbeds – RedColsi, allowing him to participate in this significant event.
At the event, our graduate served as an ambassador for the work our foundation, through the Institute, has been doing to nurture young talents and encourage their curiosity to create developments that benefit the community.
During the Milset Expo 2024 award ceremony, Francisco’s project was recognized as an outstanding international project, which will allow him to participate in the World Research Project Competition next November in Lima, Peru—another opportunity to showcase the talents of Urabá’s youth on the global stage.
